Actor Headshots

Your headshot(s) needs to represent you, capturing your essence and your castable types. Casting Directors constantly inform actors the headshot is who they expect to walk into the room, or appear on the tape. If your headshot is old, you have changed your hair, lost some hair, gained weight, lost weight, or have what looks like a glamour shot, your headshot may not be getting the job done for you.

Make-up is also one of the things actors are told they need, but in reality the idea of covering up imperfections or molding features falls more into the glamour shot category and not so necessary in the headshot category. For men – be who you are, scars and all. Why cover up something that may sell you for a role. For women – natural everyday make-up is fine. When you schedule a session, if you want a MUA, you are free to bring your own. I have no issue with shooting you with make-up, but don’t feel it is necessary in selling your look.
